Membership
In order to become eligible for membership a student must fulfill these requirements below. If a student is eligible they must also be invited into our chapter. The requirements of eligibility is taken from our international website www.ptk.org.
NOTE: These requirements become in effect for the semester of Spring 2014 and will only affect members who join from this Spring 2014 and onward. Members who joined in previous semesters are not required to complete these requirements.
Participation Requirements:

Membership Dues:
* Graduation and Semesterly Dues are to be paid if member cannot fulfill the first 3 main points of the participation requirements. However, these dues are waived if the first 3 requirements are met.
Membership Benefits:
- You must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution offering an associate degree program.
- You must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework that may be applied to an associate degree (part-time students may be eligible).
- You must generally have a grade point average of 3.5.
- You must receive an invitation to membership from the chapter at the college where presently enrolled.
- You must adhere to the moral standards of the society.

Participation Requirements:
- Participate in at least 1 Chapter Service Event
- Or 3 Hours of Service at a non-chapter event (Community, School, Volunteer, etc.)

- Participate in at least 1 Chapter Social Event (Fellowship, Scholarship, Leadership, etc.)
- Pay Membership Dues (Read Membership Dues section for details.)
- Submit a Membership Renewal Form due within the first six weeks of each semester.
Membership Dues:
- $80 Registration for International, Regional and Chapter Dues paid during online registration.
- $20 Graduation Dues to be paid only if member joins in the semester of graduation. Dues must be paid by April 18, 2014, 4:00PM.*
- $5 Semesterly Dues to be paid for each following semester while attending Leeward CC.*

Membership Benefits:
- The Phi Theta Kappa Golden Key Membership Pin.
- A Phi Theta Kappa Membership Certificate and ID Card.
- Recognition during college induction ceremony
- The official Seal of Phi Theta Kappa placed on your college diploma.
- Recognition by wearing Phi Theta Kappa Commencement Regalia during college graduation.
- Personalized letters of recommendation for scholarships and employment.
- Special benefits and offers from Phi Theta Kappa corporate partners.
- Become qualified to apply for scholarships only offered to members.
- Free enrollment in CollegeFish.org, a transfer and college completion planning tool.
- Access to free/discounted chapter social and academic events.
- Removal from chapter roster, but membership in the society is maintained.
- Recognition of membership will not be given at commencement.
- Phi Theta Kappa Graduation Seal will not be awarded.
- Right to purchase and wear society graduation regalia at commencement is revoked.
